We've been quite busy and I have been extremely neglectful. I was shocked to notice that it has been three months since I last posted, and my goal was to post once a month. Oh well, here goes.

We took the girls to the Easter Pageant this weekend and then spent Friday at the zoo and the Rainforest cafe. On Saturday we braved the very rainy weather to go to an Easter Party at the Rockin R Ranch. The girls enjoyed hunting easter eggs and liked even better opening them and getting the candy.

This was the first time I was able to do full pigtails in their hair. I can't believe how grown up they look.

They just didn't want to hold still for a picture. Don't pay attention to the crooked part.
I am so glad the weather is nice. We've been able to go outside a lot and the girls find their ways of staying entertained. The favorite is putting dirt anywhere they can think of. Hair, pockets, shoes.
Kaydee was a little upset about getting dirty.

Vandee's kids are so much fun, but Hyrum is really trying to grow up too fast. He is a good 20 lbs now and loves to get into everything.
The girls thought it was cool that they could sit on bowls, just their size.
Poor Hyrum, the girls love him so much but he really isn't fond of the attention. It's just a good thing he is big. I have caught them sitting on him like a little couch and using him as a step stool to get on the couch.
Kaydee and Kenyon are getting pretty good at getting where they want. This was accomplished by pushing their little scooters up under the chair to climb up. They have even gotten on top of the piano.
Here is a good way to get on the chairs, just keep stacking till it's tall enough.
Hyrum is hungry and the girls are only too glad to help, but Jaydee doesn't think they are doing it right.

Things have been busy. I even watched my sister Sara's kids for a few days, 7 kids 5 and under, we were a little insane, but crazy as it sounds I actually got more done because I basically never sat down. I am just glad my mom kept them overnight. You gotta sleep sometime. Perhaps when you die???

Kaydee and Kenyon are doing so many adorable things. I wish I could catch it all on video. They are starting to talk and their vocabulary includes: please, drink, binky, blanket, eat, phone, ball, wow, ooh, etc. They even enhance some of these with sign language, please gets the most enhancement it's begging in sign language. Church is a bit of a nightmare, but since they can go to nursery it's only an hour of crazy. They loved the zoo, and if you've never been to the Rainforest Cafe at Arizona Mills you should take your kids. My girls loved it when they did the thuderstorm. They are rarely scared of anything and love almost everything. I am so blessed and I am so thankful to have my sweet girls.

The Start of Something Wonderful!!!

Three years ago, Blain and I were married in the Snowflake Temple. It has been a crazy few years, and we are looking forward to another great 50 or so more.

We met in June of 2002 at a weekend EFY that was in Round Valley. We became friends and emailed till October when we actually started dating. He left on his mission the next October, and I finished high school and went on to ASU. Two weeks after he came home from his mission we were engaged, and married on January 6, 2006. It was much prettier and warmer than this year. Other than Blain washing my temple recommend before our wedding, things went very smoothly.

All my flower girls, aren't they adorable?
My blog background isn't an accident, I LOVE Gerber Daisies.

An absolutely beautiful day!!!

Another Update!

We have been crazy busy, but things are finally slowing down a little bit. I'm so sorry it's been so long but here we are now. This post goes backwards from Christmas to the beginning of November.

We went to see Santa at the Children's party that Blains work sponsors. The girls did pretty good, they weren't quite sure what to think of the guy with the beard but they sat long enough to get some pictures. Christmas was a lot of fun, but I only got a short video. The girls loved opening presents and had a great time doing it.
Kaydee was okay with the whole thing. Especially when he gave her a candy cane!
Kenyon was a little nervous and didn't want me getting too far away.

They sat just long enough to snap the picture and then they were done!

But they were really excited to open the present that he gave them!

Kaydee really got into the whole thing and got that paper ripped off in no time.
She wasn't too excited when it was all in a box though.

We got the girls cookies and wandered around the conference center of Honda where the party was held. We snapped a bunch of pictures trying to get one for the Christmas card and this was the one we came up with.

These are the presents from Santa and they LOVE them. Kaydee bends over it like she is really playing and Kenyon has figured out all the different buttons. They like to dance to the music that plays, and it is adorable to watch.

This is what happens when the girls get into their bedroom. I usually keep the door closed, but you can see they got in and cleaned out the whole dresser. Fun times.

We got snow and the girls were so excited to go outside. Don't you just love the hats?

They loved walking all around the yard and got all wet and cold, but we had fun.

Kenyon loves her daddy's hats, and will snatch one up anytime she can reach it.

Kaydee likes them too. They are such a funny mix of girly-girl and tom-boy.

They love to play in the water and showers aren't even a little scary to them so we do a bath pretty often, especially since they feed themselves now.
Jaydee loves to help with her brother, but a movie was playing and it was a scary part so she had to cover his eyes.

We went to Grama D's after Thanksgiving and the girls popped down on their bellies as soon as the TV went on. Isn't that the cutest thing?
Here's Kenyon, I couldn't resist the picture when she started crawling, hasn't done that since she could walk.
We visited Blain's Grammy out in Round Valley and after the girls got used to being there they decided to get a cuddle out of the deal. Kenyon favored Grammy while Kaydee went for Grampa Allen.

Uh oh they can get over the couch so the cupboard locks have gone into place and they are now able to roam most of the house.

Jaydee didn't want to get down from lunch and after I got the twins down for their naps I came back to find her crashed out. Guess when you're young and exhausted you can sleep anywhere.

They love standing on the window sill to watch for daddy to come home. Now they push anything up to the window that they can use to stand on and get up there by themselves.

We went to visit Blain's great grandmother and the girls weren't too sure about that lady until she pulled out cookies. Grandma's know what little kids love.
They sit up against the wall and it looks like they are in time out or something. It is too cute, especially when they "read" books.
Kenyon has a new favorite place to sit and although she's fallen a few times, it doesn't stop her from climbing on up.

Kaydee was blowing raspberries and it was so cute, but of course she stopped when we pulled out the camera.

We just love snapping pictures of the girls, but while we were getting some of Kenyon, Kaydee felt left out and yelled at us.
The girls are fighting over who gets to lay on Hyrum's burp cloth. Yuck, but oh so cute.
They love to feed themselves and although it makes a big mess, they do well and are oh so cute doing it.
Like I said, Mess!

Why Am I Busy???

Kenyon and Kaydee. Don't you love the toast sticking out of their mouths? They are busy walking and of course getting hurt. They love Hyrum, even though he is only 4lbs lighter than they are.
Jaydee Fern Flake

Hyrum Keith Flake Born September 12th
Sometimes I look around at all the things I haven't done and think, What is wrong with me? I should seriously be able to get more done in a day. Then I look at these pictures and realize...The fact that I haven't been declared certifiably insane is a HUGE achievement. My Grandmother made me feel so good, she said that recently her and Grandpa had gone back to the town where they had raised their kids. They really enjoyed all the sights that they used to see all the time, but when they went back to where their house used to be it was completely demolished, along with the entire neighborhood. Then she said, "I spent so much time cleaning and organizing that place, and now it is completely gone. But the time I spent with my kids is a blessing. Each day I can see how they have grown and progressed and I'm glad I spent that time with them, but I wish I had spent more." So I decided that as long as mold isn't covering any surface, and the stench of poopy diapers doesn't over ride my home, then I am going to let it go. Who cares that I have only mopped my house once since I moved in? So that is my message, you may not have 4 kids ages 3 and under running around, but you have a life to live that doesn't revolve around scrubbing floors and dishes. Let loose, spend time with your family and enjoy!!!

Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun! Kaydee and Kenyon were Thing 1 and Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat and my niece was The Cat in the Hat!

Kenyon was Thing 2!
Kaydee was Thing 1!

Kaydee is so serious in most of her pictures now. It's pretty funny!

It's time to take a bath and wash all that blue out!
They sure know just how cute they are!!!
Kenyon has gotten to be quite a ham! Don't you love that blue hair?
Aren't they adorable???
We went to the Arcade after Trick or Treating and they had so much fun!

Check out that Blue Hair!

Jaydee kept cleaning out the stuffing in her hat that made it stand straight up. But can you imagine a cuter group of girls? The twins figured out Trick or Treating really fast and would get mad when we made them leave. They jumped out of the wagon and ran up to the door. It was so much fun!

Eating!!!

They love this stool and it scares me every time. This is rare that Kaydee got up before Kenyon though!

Check out these little girls. They love to feed themselves. Oatmeal, yogurt, applesauce, beans, soup, anything. They like to hold the spoons in one hand and eat with the other. So we still have some work left to do, but all things considered they are doing just fine. Now if I can figure out a way for them to gain weight we will be doing good. They eat ALL the time, seriously I have no idea why they aren't heavier but they are both weighing in at a petite 18lbs each. Oh well such is life, maybe I should be happy my girls have a great metabolism.

Update!

I know it's been forever and this is totally a catch up post. We are busy, but loving all the time we have to play! My house is a wreck, but the kids are happy. Hopefully this weekend we'll be able to get it put back together.
Kaydee cruisin'!
They thought they were pretty cool stuff being able to climb up on the table. Kaydee looks pretty serious!
Kenyon givin' us a glamour shot!
Aren't they so cute??? They love these chairs that are just their size. Jaydee thought they were all in time out!
Wood blocks are great toys, unless your kids are teething. You'd think they were indestructible, but apparently those sharp new teeth are nothing to reckon with!
They get such cute serious faces on sometimes and I'm glad I have a camera handy because they are so stinking cute!

Kaydee on top and Kenyon below. It was hilarious when they figured out that the glasses helped keep the sun out of their eyes!

Stylin' in our sunglasses! We are definitely girls. We love accessories. Glasses, purses, shoes, bracelets, and clothes.

And when they figured out how to get into the drawer, I couldn't keep them out.

This is my neice and my girls. They loved sitting under the barstools at Vandee's house. It was one of their favorite places this summer.

Kaydee and Kenyon under the trampoline. Another fun place because the sun wasn't so hot under there.
PIGTAILS! Their hair is finally long enough, and they even sit still for me to fix it.

They still love to sleep together and it doesn't look like that is going to change any time soon.

No Camera Cord!

I can't post any pictures because I can't find the cord for my camera. But I wanted to give an update anyway! We moved out of our house on August 1. Our new place was supposed to be ready on the 8th so we moved in with my sister temporarily, or so I thought. We ended up being there till September 12th, but she happened to love the fact that I was there. She was in the last month of her pregnancy and was having an awful time, throwing up EVERY night and just completely miserable as the little guy was laying on her nerve in her hip. It really wasn't too bad, except that I learned how well Heavenly Father knows me. My brother-in-law is a great guy but I could NEVER be married to him. Their personalities fit together so well, and mine and his completely clash. But it really was a good opportunity for me and my sister to enjoy some time together and we have always had a good relationship but we really got close while I was there. She is so awesome and I am so glad to have her in my life. So anyway, she started having contractions on September 11th, but really didn't want to have the baby that day, for obvious reasons. They were fairly light all day and then at midnight her water broke. So we headed for the hospital. That big boy was born at 2:30 AM so you see how quickly that whole thing happened. Hyrum Keith Flake was born on September 12 and weighed in at a whopping 8lbs 15 oz, for our family that is HUGE! He is so sweet.
That afternoon our house was declared officially ready so we moved in. Since then I have had the girls in my office since I was painting their room. Finally this last week I finished it, and I now have the ability to get on the computer again while they are napping. I hope I can find my camera cord soon though so that I can post some pictures. It turned out really cute. I almost have my house organized, and only have a few more boxes to go through. To make matters worse the girls just changed clothing size, and needed winter clothes. So I just finished doing that HUGE process, of cleaning out old and putting in the new. But I love my house and I am really loving where I live. I have so many new friends and life just couldn't be better.

Wedding Rings!

So this is a weird post to do as my first one back, but Blain just called me and I wanted to share. Blain works for Cellular One, in the maintenance department, not a janitor! They take care of all the vehicles that the company owns, and they take care of the Internet, installations and customer calls. So this week Blain is on call and has to go to a lady's house to fix her internet. He's been there before and as she opens the door she says, "Oh you're the good looking one!" She is old enough to be his mother! So he goes about his job and as he is leaving she asks, "Are you dating anyone?" He's not sure if she is asking for herself or for say, a daughter? He answers that he is married and she replies, "Lucky girl, she better be good to you!" He thinks this is hilarious, but my comment back is, "Honey, maybe you should start wearing your wedding ring to work again!" He had a job about a year ago that worked with some dangerous equipment, and guys have lost there fingers because their rings get caught, so the habit has died, but we're going to get back into that habit again!

One Year Ago Today...

How time flies. At 7:00am one year ago I showed up to the hospital for my scheduled induction. I was so anxious, considering I was measuring 52 weeks pregnant. I was so ready to be finished with the pregnancy. They let me go walking around while we waited for the ultrasound tech to come in, they wanted a final check on the babies positions, as I wanted to attempt a vaginal delivery. One of the most frustrating things I had to do! The guy was a complete moron, and it may have just been the fact that I was pregnant and we pregnant women tend to be a little emotional. He also measured the girls wrong. I'd had about 7 ultrasounds and I knew that every time they had measured right on track. He told me that one of them was much smaller than the other and that they were laying a different way. Well, then they had the Head of the Radiology department come in and check the results. He cleared things up. So finally at about 10:00am they inserted a prostaglandin gel that is supposed to help soften the cervix. That didn't really work. But my doctor came in at 1:00pm and as I hadn't made any progress he decided to just break my water. I had been dilated 1-2cm since I was 35 weeks and had continually gotten more effaced. When he broke my water I went immediately to a 3 but you can't get an epidural until you hit a 4 at our hospital. So I had my first contraction, and yes it surprised me. I went into hard fast labor, contractions every two minutes lasting 90 seconds (very similar to the transition stage), and since I was extremely unprepared for how painful they would be I didn't respond well. It took THREE HOURS of this until I hit a 4. But then I got an epidural and life was absolutely wonderful. I actually only received the first dose of medication and the anesthesiologist was called away to do a surgery but promised he'd be back to hook me up to the catheter that administers more drugs. He never made it back. I went to a 5 in one hour and twenty minutes after that I was fully dilated. They wheeled me into the OR, precaution for a twin delivery, and my doctor wasn't there yet so we sat and waited about 15 minutes. I pushed for 45 minutes and my beautiful baby girl A came into the world Kaydee Lee DeWitt born at 6:41 pm, 5lbs 11oz and 19 inches long. She was immediately taken and after being checked and wrapped, was handed over to her daddy. At this time the doctors were busy maneuvering baby B into a head down position, she had been transverse since about 34 weeks. It took about 20 minutes of prodding and pushing on my tummy before they were able to break her bag of water. With only two contractions my second baby was born, Kenyon Rain DeWitt born at 7:05 pm, 5lbs 10oz and 18 1/4 inches long. I was able to hold her on my stomach for a minute. Blain was able to cut both cords and then we were all wheeled back to the maternity ward. Me to my room and the girls with both grandmothers to the nursery. I couldn't believe it was over. They brought them back to me and I was able to nurse them right away.
I can't believe how blessed I am. My daughters have grown and continue to grow healthy, strong, beautiful, independent, stubborn, and absolutely adorable. They are one today. Standing up and taking a few steps, they have certainly progressed. What a blessing! I can't imagine the trust our Heavenly Father places in us! To entrust these sweet miracles to us. They are definitely a challenge, but I can't help but be grateful that my daughters got to come to earth with each other, best friends. Watching them sleep together and listening to them coo to each other in the crib is one of the greatest joys in my life. I am so grateful to have been blessed to be a mother. It is the greatest calling in the world.
Kaydee and Kenyon, I want you to know that having you has been the most wonderful gift I could ever have. It was never difficult to love both of you. You are so special. When you came into our lives we couldn't have been more surprised, scared, excited, overwhelmed and just amazed. I love you more than I ever thought I could love anyone. You have filled me with such joy. Thank you for choosing me to be your mother.
